Pamela Dodds

Pamela Dodds’ artwork in printmaking, painting and drawing is exhibited regularly in Canada, the USA and Europe. In suites of linocut prints in graphic black-and-white, Dodds employs the language of the gesture of the human form in imagery of paired female and gender ambiguous figures, to explore the ebb and flow of intimate relationships. In Memory’s Witness, a suite of 6 woodcut prints, in which the symmetrical filigree patterns of woodgrain evoke atmosphere and sound, she addresses the cyclical nature and generational trauma of war, as witnessed by a mythic and timeless pair of women, girls, crones. Also, in small paintings and drawings, Dodds explores the resonance and embedded history within ordinary objects and the natural world.
