"Printmaker Pamela Dodds employs a bold linearity...to create a world of deeply human and healing interaction..." ~R.M. Vaughan, The Globe and Mail

Pamela Dodds’s practice in painting and printmaking explores the complexities of our human relationships, engaging with and exploring the inter-connectedness of humanity across time and space, with a focus on women and women’s agency. Her work is exhibited in Canada, USA and most recently in Spain, Norway and the UK, and has been purchased for collections including Cleveland Museum of Art, OH, Capital One Bank, ON, Boston Public Library, MA, and Purdue University, IL. She has been awarded numerous fellowships and residencies such as at Open Studio Printmaking Centre in Toronto, Fundación Valparaiso, Spain, Atelier Presse Papier, Québec, and Wurlitzer Foundation, New Mexico; and grants from Ontario Arts Council, the Gottlieb Foundation, NY and Barbara Deming Memorial Fund Grant for feminist art. In 2017, 'Come Closer,' a comprehensive survey of her work in relief print was presented at Visual Arts Centre of Clarington, Ontario, including the installation 'Undertow,' a suite of tall, scroll-like prints portraying swimmers in the ocean. 'Undertow' appeared again at Impact 10 Printmaking Conference in Santander, Spain, 2018; and selections from this work have since been shown at Open Studio Printmaking Centre, Toronto, First Canadian Place Toronto, Ty Pawb, Wales, UK, and Haugesund Museum of Art, Norway. Her 2020 solo exhibition, 'Something I Want to Tell You – Big Paintings' in Cleveland, OH, was reviewed in Collective Arts Journal (Cleveland). Upcoming 2121 solo exhibitions include 'Undertow 'at Centre [3], Hamilton,ON, and 'Border Barriers' at Open Studio, Toronto.
